Quite annoyed. Just came across a band who have completely stolen our Myspace layout, a layout that took fucking ages to make. Even worse, they're labelmates of ours. Cunts. They've obviously taken up one of those 'steal layout' options on a Myspace tweaks site, and changed nothing but the text link colour and the background. Cunts.

Is there a need, really?

Psh.

Pics from the album launch coming soon, and keep an eye on our Myspace cos another song from the album is going up sometime soon.

And for those of you who've emailed me about this, yes, its become depressingly apparant in the last week or two that, despite only being released a month ago, our album is already available for illegal download via various sites and torrents and whatnot, but please don't download it. We rely on album money to tour. And for the record, I've never advocated downloading, not in the case of bands on independent labels, cos it does so much harm. Fair enough rip off U2 or REM, but if you download our album you might as well come and take a couple of our guitars as well*.

* A bit over the top, yeah, but a point must be made well or not at all. That means you're paying just a fiver for the shirt. There are bands in this city that hardly ever write songs, hardly ever rehearse, hardly ever do gigs, show no signs of actually being a proper, active band yet still have the cheek to fashion a huge merch range and charge over a tenner for a tee. I'm only pointing that out so that our insanely fair price is now documented in the annals of history.

Innit x

There are plenty of photos from our gig with Santa's Buggerboyz, where guest appearances were made by Jimbo from Freaks Union (playing the role of Jesus tormentor) and Matt from The Holy Orders (playing the role of Jesus and actually being crucified). Photos taken by Tim Sinister, Reg and Monster.

Argh. Fucking loads to update but so little time. I'll try and get summat on here today or the radge little fucker will probably die from a lack of posts. Exciting developments have happened band-wise and I've got loads of photos to sort through from the last few months, but I forgot my Photobucket password so I'll have to sort that out first.

In the meantime, have some Hanoi...

<lj-embed id="1" />

New Sound Dev press release innit.

___________________

NEWS as of 22/04/07

The Pirate Ship Quintet & Throw Stephanie In The Incinerator are out now. TPSQ will appear in shops in the Summer.

Red Paper Dragon, Zonderhoof, The Clauberg Opera and Sons Of Alpha Centauri (art by Seldon Hunt, mastered by James Plotkin) are about to be sent to the manufacturers in the next few weeks.

Naked Shit have recorded their album. Just under 80 minutes of torture. Amazing. They might joke but they're three amazing musicians and you'll hear their hard labour on their debut album. We're just making decisions on packaging at the moment. They're looking to do some touring action in the Summer. Flatlands will be touring in July too with some other Nine Hertz faves. It was only decided at the gig a few nights ago, so I don't know if they want to say quite yet, so I'll let them inform when they wish!

Cleric (USA), The Angelic Process (USA) and Kongh (Sweden. Art by Seldon Hunt, CD version on the amazing Trust No One Recordings) are all amazing vinyl releases that will see the light of day sometime during Summer. The split vinyl between Slomatics and Like A Kind Of Matador could surface around this time too. Depends. They're touring together in July if I remember what Chris and Paul said to me a few weeks ago. Look out for them rumbling your venues walls away soon.

Sunshine Republic recently gave us a demo version of one of the tracks from their forthcoming album. This material is going to blow people away. Poor bastards should be on Southern Lord, unfortunately they've got us. That's coming in an ace package with a DVD of them fooling around and scaring people up and down the country with their noise.

Monster Killed By Laser, Eye(*), Obi Got Ludo are a bit quiet but we know when they come back it's going to be special.

Boxes, Flatlands, Throw Stephanie In The Incinerator, The Pirate Ship Quintet, From the Sky are all writing. The Pirate Ship Quintet and Red Paper Dragon are doing the most sporadic tour known to man, but it's there and you should go if they come close to you. Red Paper Dragon are writing and recording - look out for some vinyl effort sometime.

What Price, Wonderland? have finished recording their album. It's called '30 With A Wink'. That's coming out on CD via us, and 12" via us and a few other lovely labels.

Aotea will have a new record out by us soon. We just got the master. It's 8 minutes long and with the new line-up. Ball bustingly heavy and overtly fun, fun, fun. Will be on vinyl this time (cd-r included) and limited in number. They're touring extensively now and over the summer. They're probably playing your home town 3000 times, so do make sure you go once. They recently played with the ace Death Sentence: PANDA! and went down very well I believe.

Analysis Of Bison Kills are recording in Holland straight after the lucky buggers have been to Roadburn. Some cool art for that coming. Seven Nautical Miles (Sweden) are beginning to record their debut album later this month. Mixed by the bass dude, Mathias, from LOGH, and mastered by Magnus from CULT OF LUNA. Artwork hopefully being done by the guy who did some art for BREACH.

Actress (Germany) and Celestine (Iceland) are lining up some recording time for their split 7". Just confirmed we're working on Magnolia's debut album. They're from Israel.

There's a few new bands possibly on the cards from Norway, the UK, the USA, Canada, Serbia and Australia. As well as hopefully a split 12" which involves Kaddish, Archives and hopefully BOW359. It's early days with that project though...

Keep a look out for updates on those. Exciting sounds from all over the world. Think that's it. 2007 should provide to me mental for us, so please keep checking out website and myspace, etc, etc.

**************

(*)One sad thing to add to this is to inform you that Eye have recently split up. We totally respect their decision, and that decision certainly wasn't made lightly. We're gutted that we never got to release their album, it would have been amazing. BUT, don't fret too long, they've told us that the end of Eye isn't the end of the member's musical lives. So look out for new projects. We know we will.

**************

Another new bit of info is that Hips Unite will most likely be the 4th band on the 4-way split 12" project we're currently putting together. Look out for that baby.

**************

Much love,
Chris & Helen

It's gonna be total aural carnage. If you've never seen us, or even if you have, come along and 'ave it! Especially if you've never seen the mighty B-Boys. You can't have a reasonable excuse for living in Hull and not having seen the Buggerboyz! We're doing some stuff together as well, in some kind of unholy union that surely shouldn't be allowed to happen on Easter Sunday.

x
